About Us

Cherished Bond Heirloom Jewelry, www.cherishedbond.com, was started in 2004 by Racquel Gonzales with the mission to create works of art that would help strengthen relationships. Our immediate goal is to create pieces that express the unique bonds between children, family and friends. The customer's sentimental engraving makes our pieces unique and more meaningful than a conventional gift of jewelry. In giving these pieces you share emotion.

Our series titled, "Hold My Hand" expresses the unique bonds between parents and children, between siblings, close friends and other loved ones. The love and understanding that exits in every special relationship is made tangible through this unique gift. The real significance of these pieces lies in each individual customer's reason for choosing to give it or wear it themselves.

The Cherished Bond jewelry line currently has nine distinctive designs available including our newest design which is a tribute flag piece designed to honor our soldiers and our country. Cherished Bond is also in the final stages of a program designed to allow civilian Americans to sponsor men or women who serve our country in any branch of military. This program would enable anyone to purchase a piece and include a note of encouragement or thanks. In return, Cherished Bond will donate a second piece to a family member such as a wife, husband, mother, father, or child. We hope this program will express our gratitude for those who serve to protect the United States and us.

About the Artist

michael

In 1999, the sculptor michael was commissioned by his five brother and two sisters to create a work of art that would honor relationships. He has created a stunning piece that will surely become an heirloom to whomever it is gifted to or worn for. That is michael's hope for the piece. Remember, the significance is your reason for giving this piece while the words you choose to add will make it an heirloom that will be appreciated for generations to come.

The artist hopes that through this gift of love his statement about the pieces will have even more belief and meaning----"Holding my hand your gave me your comfort and your strength. May I, with grace, return the many favors and hold yours."

Through this gift created from love came the idea to have an heirloom piece that you, our customers, could provide to those you love and value. Take this gift and make it your own. Remember, the significance is your reason for giving while the words you choose to add will make it an heirloom that will appreciated by generations to come.

michael uses it on all of his artwork as a symbol of Peace.

Why is this an heirloom piece?

In order to ensure heirloom quality “lost wax casting” is the method used for creating these pieces. A master wax is hand-carved with all the detail and care needed to convey the feeling portrayed in “Cherished Bond”. This master wax is cast and a mold is made with it. This means that every subsequent piece is just a single generation from the master hand carved wax, imparting a warmth which cannot be reproduced by mass or mechanical production.

Cast in Sterling Silver .925 Silver (.925), this along with the significant weight of the piece denotes quality that will be appreciated by generations to come.

The story of this heirloom piece starts in New Mexico with the handcrafted idea of sharing a bond. The rest of the story is yours to create.
